Green all around.
Yellow rays penetrate
A thick green blanket,
Lighting up the forest floor.
Nearby, a peaceful melody
Is being played
By water flowing
Swiftly down stream.
All is at peace.
Quietly, a flame comes to life.
Quickly it spreads and erupts
Scorching everything in its path.
Bright green quickly
Dies to a charred black,
Rich brown swiftly
Becomes a dark black.
A shadow is cast from
above.
From it comes a shower of rain
Ridding the forest of fire.
All the flames reduced
To nothingness.
It is amazing,
How fire can destroy so much
In so little time.
Trees stand there
Naked and black.
Dead creatures lie everywhere.
The sweet melody
Is now dead and silent.
A forest, once beautiful
Now empty, scarred, desolate.
